Daniele is an Italian illustrator and three-time winner of the British Fantasy Award for Best Artist (2012, 2017, 2021), as well as a finalist for the World Fantasy Award in 2021 and 2023.

Influenced by weird and horror literature, from E.T.A. Hoffmann and H.P. Lovecraft to David Cronenberg’s films and Japanese horror, Daniele has developed a distinctive style. Using watercolours, Indian ink, and charcoal, his work balances light and shadow to create deeply atmospheric and immersive imagery.

His work spans book covers, interior illustrations, and comic adaptations for authors including Stephen King, Clive Barker, Ramsey Campbell, Joe R. Lansdale, and Joyce Carol Oates.

He has created over 300 covers worldwide, collaborating with publishers such as HarperCollins US, PS Publishing, Cemetery Dance, Thunderstorm Books, Dark Region Press, SST Publications, Fanucci Editore, Sperling & Kupfer, Fondo de Cultura Económica, Mondadori, and Ippocampo. Among these, one of his most notable projects was the three-volume edition of Stephen King’s The Tommyknockers (PS Publishing), a highlight of his work with one of contemporary horror’s most iconic authors.

In comics, Daniele has worked with major international publishers including DC Comics, Dark Horse, Image Comics, BOOM! Studios, Titan Comics, Skydance Games, and Sergio Bonelli Editore, contributing to major titles such as Hellboy, Dark Souls, Diablo, and Dylan Dog.

His artwork has also appeared in film productions, including the adaptation of Stephen King’s Cell directed by Tod Williams, and he created the opening and closing credit illustrations for Yoshiki Takahashi’s Rageaholic.

He lives on a Mediterranean island, working in his home studio surrounded by his wife, cats, exotic insects, and a vast collection of horror films and literature.
